Why Pursue Psychotherapy?
In today’s fast-paced, high-pressure world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck. Psychotherapy offers a way to slow down and make sense of your inner world—your patterns, your pain, and your potential.
Therapy is one of many tools for mental and emotional well-being, alongside movement, nutrition, medication, spiritual practice, creative expression, and supportive relationships. What sets psychotherapy apart is the transformative power of a therapeutic relationship—one that invites you to reflect, feel, and grow in real time, with compassionate, skillful feedback. It’s not just about “fixing problems”—it’s about learning new ways of being, relating, and showing up for yourself and others.
It’s normal to wonder: Will talking about my problems actually help? Am I just overthinking things? What if I sound self-absorbed?
These questions make sense. In a world that glorifies productivity and perfection, slowing down to examine your inner life can feel radical—or even self-indulgent. But in truth, facing yourself with honesty is one of the most courageous things you can do. Therapy isn’t about spiraling into self-focus. It’s about developing a wiser, kinder relationship with yourself so you can be more present and engaged with the world around you.
How does therapy work in practice?
Our sessions are typically 45 minutes, once a week. That time becomes a sacred pause—a place to process, reset, and strengthen your emotional capacity. And outside of session, the real work begins: integrating new perspectives, choosing healthier responses, and living with greater presence and clarity.
Over time, therapy helps you loosen the grip of perfectionism, self-judgment, and old wounds. You’ll notice more ease in your body, more confidence in your choices, and more connection in your relationships.
This isn’t about endlessly analyzing yourself. It’s about learning to live well—on your terms.

About Psychotherapy
What Is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a guided process of emotional insight, self-discovery, and healing through open conversation with a trained therapist. Whether you’re exploring individual therapy, couples therapy, or group therapy, sessions provide a safe, structured space to work through life’s challenges. Together, we set goals, time frames, and a plan tailored to your needs and well-being.
What Is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy?
I practice psychodynamic therapy—an approach rooted in the belief that many of our current struggles are shaped by unconscious patterns, early experiences, and the parts of ourselves we’ve learned to avoid or suppress.
This isn’t the outdated image of lying on a couch, talking into the void. Our work is collaborative, present, and alive. We explore how past experiences, family dynamics, and internalized beliefs may be showing up in your daily life—in relationships, work, creativity, and how you feel about yourself.
Through deep, honest dialogue, psychodynamic therapy helps make the unconscious conscious. You begin to notice the stories you tell yourself, where they come from, and—most importantly—how to shift them in service of more freedom, flexibility, and satisfaction. This method also creates space to revisit formative experiences with caregivers, especially if those dynamics are repeating themselves in your current relationships.
What Are the Goals of Psychotherapy?
While every person’s path is unique, therapy can help you:
• Build emotional awareness and resilience
• Understand your triggers and inner patterns
• Communicate more effectively and honestly
• Deepen your relationships and boundaries
• Access more joy, calm, and vitality in your daily life
• Align your choices with your values, not your fears
Psychotherapy isn’t about becoming a different person. It’s about becoming more fully and freely yourself.
